Nick Katz
Nick Katz is a strategic consultant at Malachite LLC, specializing in commercial real estate and the creation of new business relationships. Mr. Katz is an expert in the positioning of green and energy efficient buildings in the marketplace to optimize leasing, tenant retention and financial results, while reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
A LEED Accredited Professional, Mr. Katz launched the Sustainability Services platform at GVA Advantis, a leading U.S. real estate services firm, where he closed and participated in numerous leasing and investment sales transactions. He was previously a member of the Capital Markets Group at Coldwell Banker Commercial, where he focused on institutional quality commercial real estate acquisitions, representing groups such as RLJ Lodging, Thayer Lodging, JBG Cos., and Barcelo Crestline in the potential acquisition of single properties and portfolios.
Mr. Katz is a founding member and Partnership Development Committee Co-chair of the Energy Efficiency Partnership of Greater Washington, a $500 million initiative to retrofit 100 buildings across the Washington, DC metropolitan area over the next five years. In this capacity, he works extensively with building owners, corporate tenants and developers on energy retrofit issues.
Mr. Katz has established strong personal relationships with leading professionals throughout the green building and sustainability industries. He serves on the Communications Committee of the National Capital Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, where he has been active in chapter recruitment, development and marketing.
Mr. Katz is a graduate of Denison University, where he specialized in communications and economics. He is also a graduate of the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland.
